Any mother that tells you her child is "addicted" to their pacifier is kidding herself. It is not the child that is addicted but the parent that is addicted!
Addison loves her pacy but I love it more! So when daycare stared telling her that she couldn't have a pacy- pacy's are for "babies" I was up the creek without a paddle! So now when we are at home and it is time for bed I will ask "Addison where is your pacy?" and she runs around frantically calling "Baby" until the finds it. I told the daycare to be careful because she is quickly becoming a parrot and I will know everything they say! So now we refer to the pacy as the "baby" and slowly but surely the "baby" is fading out of her life. This is bitter sweet for me because (1) it means she is not MY baby anymore & (2) how am I going to keep her content in public during her terrible twos without the mouth stopper!!!!!! I am definitely addicted to the "baby"!
The terrible twos are present and/or rapidly approaching and I see more and more of myself coming out in Miss Mini-Kyle. She might look like him on the outside but the inside is ALL MAMA! Miss drama queen, acting queen, dancing queen, you name it- she's queen of it. Other than being sick (thankfully she is nothing like Kyle or I in this department). We have been sick A LOT lately and she is the BEST patient ever. Kyle & I would be moaning and groaning but Addi can throw up, very calmly, and then continue playing like nothing happened! It's FABULOUS!
Well, I will try to keep you all updated as our little one steadily becomes a BIG one and make sure you check out my latest project that occupies my free time if you haven't already @ EasternShoreMom.com.
