I will always remember the day that we mastered comprehension. Words are just words without comprehension and now words are meaningful.
Addison understands no, come here, and more importantly actions and reactions. Daddy's phone rings and her response is "Press as many buttons I can to make it stop ringing and say HELLLLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWW?". Mommy's phone rings and her response is "I need to get this to momma right now because there ARE NO BUTTONS!". The dogs bark and her response is "NOOOOOOO!". Kyle or I get a coke out of the refrigerator and she says "Coke".
The action- reaction phase is upon us and I am LOVING it! It is so neat to see her take on things and how she responds to us and what is around her. She loves to watch Wheel Of Fortune and clap when they are spinning the wheel and yell "YAY" when the letters start coming up. Life is a game to her and watching her play it is such a gift.
Recently I bought a used Dyson off of eBay because ours bit the dust (if you knew how often I vacuumed you would understand, BTW Thanks Daddy & Jackie, I LOVE it!). When it got here I realized it matched Addi's play vacuum that is a Dyson (courtesy of MiMi and Pops). It is adorable because now when I vacuum an she vaccums with me we match! She is my little cleaning helper. With our family rounding out at 7 (3 of us, 2 dogs -I am getting to that, and 2 bunnies) we make quite a mess. I keep as good of a handle on it as I can- my new vacuum makes it easier. Addison helps a lot with the dusting and swiffering the floors. Her FAVORITE is the swiffer. In fact, I have to wait until she is down for a nap to actually Swiffer properly because she will kick and scream if I don't let her do it!
Meet the newest member of our Nix Family farm- TANNER!

As if I don't have enough to do we got another dog, but he is sweet and has quickly become part of our family!
Nap time and sleeping all night is a breeze (most of the time) now. She goes to bed around 7 and wakes up around 7. Watching her do her bedtime routine and tell everyone (including the animals) goodnight is such a joy! She is such a sweetheart. She just lays down in her bed and goes to sleep! She's amazing! The terrible two's are quickly approaching but it is times like these that she is my sweet little angelic girl. I know she is going through so many changes and can't tell me whats going on or hurting and it makes her so frustrated but she also has bouts of Kyle and I in her- headstrong moments where if I don't let her do what SHE wants to do or wear what SHE wants to wear, well oh my goodness. It is like something out of The Exorcist!
After this Summer my blog posts will become more frequent I promise. I have been so busy with work/school/Eastern Shore Mom.com that I have hardly had enough time to get on here (hints the 4 posts rolled into one). If you haven't checked out EasternShoreMom.com make sure you do. It is something that I am so proud of and thrilled that my dream of this is finally reality!
