:: Goodbye's & Hello's ::

This weekend was a weekend of Goodbye's and Hello's for our family.
Around the end of October I had found a 4 week old puppy, whom we named Annie, in a laundry basket outside of Target. We have been caring for her ever since with the understanding that one day we would need to find her another home. Well, this weekend was one day.
After Kyle and I discussed it we knew Annie needed to go to another family that could take care of her for good. I found a wonderful family for her- With 2 parents and a 2 year old little girl. Addison and I met them on Sunday and they are terrific people- Mindy (the mom) is a lot like I am she is a people person and actually works in a position identical to mine! We have a lot in common and her daughter, Skyler, and Addison seemed to get along great. Hopefully we will become great friends. Kyle and I search and search to find good "Parent" friends- it's hard to find those that aren't CRAZY!
But Mindy and her family seem terrific and I know they will be a wonderful family for Annie. It was hard to let her go but we took some pictures before Mindy and Skyler picked her up.

But we got something to occupy our emotions and as we said Goodbye to Annie- we said Hello to 2 (yes I said 2!) Mini Lop Eared Bunnies.

Lilly & To Be Announced (Kyle hasn't named his yet) are 4 weeks old and terrific bunnies. In juts 2 days I have already litter trained them and they love to be held and bounce around our living room. We picked them up from a wonderful lady in Brewton who breeds these fancy rabbits to go to homes with children.

Addison is so facinated with the bunnies and she is very gentle when petting them. You will see the picture below of her laying down next to their temporary cage- she loves to peer in at them and giggle when they hop or eat. Every day we see more and more how she shares Kyle & I's love for animals. She is so gentle and nurturing and it is such a joy to see her interact with animals. To see her take on the responsiblity of helping mommy feed the animals and watch me change their cage. I just know she is going to be a BIG helper.

See the pictures below- the rabbit with the brown ears is Lilly and the one that is all white with silver ears is Kyle's. (note: We were only getting one bunny until Kyle got up there are decided he needed to have his own bunny! I am not getting blamed for bringing home a second bunny- even though I was not opposed to it. They are too cute!)
